Lightning All-Stars took a 3-0 lead in the first eight minutes and never looked back, winning 7-0 over the Pythons to become playoff champions of the U9 league. The victory avenged a 3-2 loss in the third game of the season. After starting the season 1-2 with both losses by just one goal, the All-Stars have won seven straight games by a combined score of 41-15, to finish 8-2-0 overall.
Mateo led the scoring with three goals and Juan, Sergio, Ben and Aaron each tallied once. Dylan displayed excellent goaltending again, taking the first 30 minutes, while Juan completed the shutout in the last 10 minutes.
The team's success was due to its hustle and improvement over the course of the season. Congratulations, and see you next year!

Game 9: Lightning All-Stars 5, Lesmez Aces 3
Lightning All-Stars came back from a 3-0 deficit in the first nine minutes to score five unanswered goals, and win their semi-final match vs. the Lesmez Aces 5-3. The All-Stars improved to 7-2-0 with victory.
After falling behind 3-0, Juan scored twice and Mateo, Jack, and Sergio each added a goal. Goalkeeper Dylan shut out the Aces for the final 31 minutes, making several great saves.
The next game is the championship match on Saturday, March 7, 10:30, at Gunston, vs. the winner of the other semi-final match.

Game 8: Lightning All-Stars 7, Lesmez Aces 5
Mateo scored five goals and Sam and Owen added one each as the All-Stars never trailed in a hard-fought 7-5 victory. The win avenged a defeat at the hands of the Aces in the first game of the year. With the victory, the boys clinched second place in the regular season with a 6-2-0 record, heading into the playoffs.

Game 7: Lightning All-Stars 9, Aces 0
Six players got into the scoring column as the Lightning All-Stars rolled over the Aces to improve to 5-2-0 on the season. The boys took a 4-0 lead in the first half with two goals from Ben and one each from Mateo and Aaron. Juan had the clean sheet for the half in goal.
The scoring barrage continued in the second half as Juan scored twice, Mateo added another, and Dylan and Sergio also tallied. Owen kept the shutout going in the second half in goal.
Next week is our final regular season game, a rematch against Lesmez Aces to whom we lost by one goal in the first game of the season.

Game 6: Lightning All-Stars 7, Wildcats 1
A strong first half led to an easy victory for the boys, as they improved to 4-2-0 on the season. Sergio scored twice while Ben, Juan and Sam each tallied a goal - there was an own goal as well. Juan added another goal in the second half to make the final 7-1.

Game 5: Lightning All-Stars 8, Aces 4
Mateo scored a hat trick and the All-Stars broke open a 3-3 halftime tie to win going away in the second half.
The Aces took a 1-0 lead before Mateo scored three minutes into the game. After another goal by the Aces, Sam and Mateo scored to make it 3-2 Lightning. But, the Aces scored in the last minute of the half to tie the game.
Mateo scored in the first minute of the second half and Dylan added another five minutes later to make it 5-3, but the Aces fought back to make it 5-4, and it stayed that way until there were three minutes left in the game. Game 4: Lightning All-Stars 5, Science Focus 2
Lightning All-Stars evened their record at 2-2 with a 5-2 victory over Science Focus.
Owen put the All-Stars on the board first with a goal just two minutes into the game, but Science Focus struck back with two straight goals. Sam tied the game up for the All-Stars with a goals about 6 minutes before the half ended and it was 2-2 at halftime.
After playing keeper in the first half, Mateo came out with a lot of energy in the second half and scored three goals. Juan allowed no goals as keeper in the second half.
